Recently, our students participated in a special day that was about much more than planting rice, it was an opportunity to connect deeply with tradition, nature, and one another.
Before getting their hands dirty, they learned about the vital role rice has played across cultures for centuries, not only as a staple food but also as a powerful symbol of patience, hard work, and community spirit. Then, with muddy feet and bright smiles, they stepped into the fields and carefully planted each seedling by hand.
This experience wasn’t just about the act of planting; it was about slowing down, feeling the earth beneath their feet, and working side by side. As stories were shared and laughter echoed through the fields, it became clear that this simple tradition was cultivating something far greater, a renewed sense of unity and respect for the natural world around us.
Days like this remind us of the importance of honoring our heritage and caring for the environment together.
